In her painting, Gabriele Chiari questions the nature of uniqueness and reflexive repetition. In the first work process, she pours watercolor onto the paper and gives free rein to chance in the creation of the stain. Similar to the Rorschach test, she transfers the mirror-inverted impression of the wet paint to the right half of the picture. Chiari then appropriates the red paint stain by meticulously tracing it again in colored pencil.
